Tomorrow is my favorite day of the week! Charley wonders if the weather is good enough for a hike or if visitors will come? Well what more makes a good Saturday ?
Definitely a good breakfast! (best GF breakfast ever!)
A trip to Findlay Market…myohmyohmy the colors are so pretty there
We buy there the best tea and coffee and Mr.Walker’s sourdough breads.
How splendid can you look in a cowboy hat underneath one of the best signs ever?
Excellent healthy street food for lunch, sitting on a bench and watching other market shoppers go by…and they are watching us of course.
This area down town is becoming more beautiful each time we go there!
Whilst we are downtown, we might as well visit the Cincinnati Art Museum…even the Bicycle Rack is artful there.
When home again, a good nap is in order!
And we finish the day with an excellent BBQ, all local food!
Wishing you an excellent weekend…what are you up too?
Love and Liefs, Johanna
ps very proud to finally manage to use the photos of my phone on my blog with google photos…I only need to figure out how to watermark them.
Very lovely pictures from a beautiful stroll, Johanna! That breakfast looks amaaazing!! 🙂 Looking so much forward to all your other blog posts! Sarah xxx
Thanks Sarah, it makes me happy you enjoy this so much! Xo Johanna
Thank YOU for sharing them!! 🙂 xxx
Charley, you and your mom sure know how to have fun. Your downtown is very pretty. And I’m happy you got a nap in there after so much excitement. Weekends are the best!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Cheers to your weekend Cupcake, say hi to mom xoxox
What beautiful pictures and a lovely day – and the breakfast looked epic!
Hahaha, that is the right word, Epic…I did not ate it all..
Boy, as lovely as that collection of images is, Charley steals the show once again!!! Wonderful Johanna. 💛💛💛
Charley nodded in agreement ;o)
Looks very good to me. 🙂
It is very good ;o) xo Johanna
I love the first picture with Charley looking out the window full of hope. That breakfast looked seriously amazing! Karen
Haha, Kaggsy called it even epic…and I did not ate it all ;o)
This looks like my idea of a perfect day (except I would need to add ice cream!) Good food, a stroll through a vibrant neighborhood, a nap . . . lovely. Hope tomorrow lives up to this ideal, Johanna!
Ha, if you even land in Cincinnati…go to Greater’s and you will be so ice cream happy! And yes…my weekend is excellent, with both my boys! Xo Johanna
Well, I want to spend my Saturday with you. 🙂 Now, that looks like fun, with the delicious food, shopping options, beautiful flower boxes and artwork. Fun, fun, fun. 🙂
I think we could do good Saturday together ;o) xo Johanna
Hi Johanna, The market looks so appealing with many people being relaxed and summery.
My Saturday typically includes a visit to the local Wesley Hill market where I do a lot of my fruit and vegetable shopping. After a lazy lunch, I usually take my dog, Katie, and an aunt’s dog, Gypsy, for a walk.
I had a peek at your market..so many exotic things (to me) it looks amazing! Findlay market is a relaxed place and very important for Cincinnati as it is located in a very challenged neighborhood . In the last 10 years it has brought so much goodness there!
How lovely going for a walk with you! A wonderful market, that’s for sure. And my oh my the food, especially breakfast!
It has been called serious and epic…but trust me, I could not eat it all ;o) xo Johanna
I didn’t realize you were from Nati City, home of my Alma Mater UC College of Design Architecture and Art. What a great town. I still miss it. N.
Yes, you mentioned that before! We are from The Netherlands and lived in Canada too but love living in Cincinnati (despite the summer heat) It is for sure on the way up again and Findlay market has brought a lot of goodness in a challenging neighborhood, that makes it even more enjoyable. Xo Johanna
Johanna, I love your photos (I can’t figure out how to watermark at all…) and the story of your Saturdays. Being a guest at your house would be a real treat! (Is that you on the coffee sign??)
I mean..”under” the coffee sign. 🙂
I wish!!! That lovely beautiful girl is no older than 25!!! I hope your weekend is equally enjoyable Anne, xo
Yes, but you look 25!
xoxox
Good morning, Johanna,
You should have tol me earlier about THAT breakfast: I would have come by! 😉 It sure looks fantastic. Makes me want to cook a good breakfast on Sunday morning. Maybe I will.
I wouldn’t have tought you have such colourful houses up there. Thanks for taking me around. 🙂
That BBQ looks yummy, too. I don’t know when we’ll get our pit out again, but definitely soon.
Have a great weekend,
Pit
That breakfast has been called Serious and Epic…I did not ate it all ;o)
And I think Ohio is the same as you explained about Texas. It makes quite a difference to be North or South, even in climate and landscape. Cincinnati is right on the Ohio River and it airport is in Kentucky! People talk with that delicious Southern drawl here
” Hey Y’all” etc. Those colorful house are called Painted Ladies.
Lovely relaxing pics. Good to see Charlie too. Hicks and I send hugs xx
A good one to you too xo
Johanna, I live in Cincinnati, too, and you definitely experienced many of the wonderful highlights on your outing. OTR is one of our favorite places to visit on the weekend as well as the Smale Park areas – so much to offer! Cheers to a good weekend 🙂
Cincinnati is definitely going upwards and onwards! Even after only 4 years we see differences. Were you born and raised here?
The renovations at Smale Park and The Banks are the most exciting to me. Yes, born and raised 🙂
I agree! https://colorpencil2014.wordpress.com/2015/08/12/photo-shoot-at-smale-riverfront-park/ Have a look at this, when you have time!
Gorgeous photos! Thanks for sharing this post with me. I am happy that Cincinnati has these gems to share with residents and visitors alike!
Okay, now I want to move to Cincinnati.
Might wanna have a good visit before you exchange for your lovely place ;o)
Thank you for this treat. First, I love dogs, and I love Charlie ‘ s poise. Such a sweet dog. All the food looks great, especially considering I’m commenting while sitting on the bus heading home for supper. That fuschia building in Findlay Market, that’s an illustrator ‘ s dream. Have a great weekend, Johanna.
Ha, Chalrey nodded agreement! I hope your supper was delicous! And those colored houses are really a ‘Southern thing” they call them Painted Ladies.
What a day! Charley’s pooped out and all that yummy food, Jo. I’m surprised you’re not a little more…umm..chubby!! *wink The market area looks very friendly; I like buildings that have their own window flowerpots, makes it so colourful and cheerful. 🙂
Well I do not eat every day like that ;o)..and I am happy you enjoyed this post!
…thank goodness… 😉
What a wonderful marketplace to visit and spend some time. Beautiful photos, Johanna. My, my, but you are obviously one great gourmet cook! And, of course, I’m loving the pics of sweet Charley. Hope your weekend is all you wished❣ 😄
I had an excellent weekend with both my boys!!!!
How cute is your dog , thanks sharing your day
Charley agrees!!!
What a lovely day you had! The food looks really tasty and the market so vibrant! Hope your weekend is continuing to go well xx
I had a splendid wekend with both my boys…so you know I was very happy!
Yay! xxoxx
That’s one heck of a great day and that breakfast looks amazing. Can’t believe it’s just breakfast..:)
It was called epic and serious…and I did not eat it all ;o)
Lol…that’s ok, I might not admit it either
;o)
The food alone would make it a good day. Yum, yum, and yum. My favorite photo, however, is Charley’s examination of the day outside.
Charley agrees!!! Xo Johanna
The green hues in the last photo are delicious, Mrs. Walker. xo
Thank you…it is a real summer night, right? Xo
Yes it is. ❤️
Ohhh…asparagus! Oh, joy. I LOVE it! What wonderful way to spend a Saturday. x
Your photos really allowed us to feel, see, and enjoy your day with you. Super!
And that photo of Charley is wonderful
Charley agrees! ;o) and thank you Laurie, I am happy you enjoyed it!
Glorious photos, one and all, though I nearly melted into a puddle at the shot of Charlie napping on the bed. What a great city to explore. Those bike racks are a work of art.
Happy you enjoyed it! With a big kiss and hug form Charley
Mwaaaaa
I didn’t realize that was Cincinnati! Very colorful.
Looked like a wonderful day! Charley, Markets and all that food…the breakfast must be for lumberjacks! 😀 You’ve got a great eye for things and all your photo’s turned out so splendiferous! Love the coffee sign too….did you design it? Is it Charley in the sign? Just a guess.
I came looking for Charley via her own link. I’ve been needing a bit of a fix 😀 Little sleepy head looked out like a light. Our market invites your dog with too, I think thats awesome. Alys and I went to our market when she was here too. We ate cookies and cold drinks and bought more to bring home. But I also love looking at all the artful creations. It’s outdoors here until late September and them moves into our City Hall for the long dark winter…..eeeek, exnay on the winter eh xoxo k
I have no problem imagine Alys and you chitchatting whilst looking at the Googles at the market! Charley gives a big hug to you and alas, just like her mom…we are waiting (Im)patiently for cold weather to arise invigorated again! And no…that coffee sign was not creation of mine, but it is a great one, right? Xoxo
I’m always admiring clever shop signs and magazine ads. I think some advertisers are quite clever. Did you ever see the 2012 Super Bowl Ad with the chubby dog and a Volkswagen? It might be my all time favourite. Hope the link works xo
😄
I will make a point to explore Cincinnati soon. I grew up an hour away and probably have been there about three times ever. Findlay Market looks like my kind of place!
Oh yes, y’oughta watermark those lovely photos of yours!
Ever since my iMac died, I’ve been watermarking online via
my iPad and this free website 🙂 ♥ ❤ @ https://www.watermark.ws
Thnak you, that is ever so handy!! I will examine this! xo
Great blog! Check mines out!
