So the heat came back again mid September and Mr. Walker saw his wife wilting away. The marvelous man of few words knew what to do, he simply booked a trip to the Rocky Mountains, Colorado. I happily knitted a hat in three days and packed suitcases.
What bliss: the scenery, the hikes, the animals….whilst wearing a sweater.
For seven days we hiked in this beautiful part of the world. Here some snapshots from the family album.
Love and Liefs,
Johanna
What a trip! Your photos are stunning. Did you camp overnight?
Ah no, no camping. We used to camp all the time but now we either go in a camper van or like this time, rent an apartment. And I am happy you like the photos so much!!!
Absolutely enchanting, Johanna !
Thank you very much, Gilles!
ps I enjoy your blog very much, always gives me a good laugh!
Absolutely beautiful photos! What a perfect get-away! Karen
Thank you Karen, you would have loved it too!
You took your best guy and communed with Mother Nature. Sounds like a great time to this woman. š
What can I say?…it was! ;o)
Refreshing in so many ways! What a wonderful chap your Mr Walker is š Winter seems to be determined to linger on here …….. I hope we are not stuck in an endless loop of changing season!
I am thinking the same but opposite, we have finally cooler fall weather but some hot days pop up from time to time…
That was my first guess!!! I tuped the Rocky Mountains, then I changed my mind and guessed the Laurentians! Lol!! Always go with your first guess, isn’t that what thay say? Well, how wonderful that you had the chance to spend time in the mountains. Sigh… the most beautiful place in the world, if you ask me. Wonderdul pictures. Take care! ā°
Thank you!!!
*Typed, not tuped!
*typed not tuped!
hahaha, auto correct is often in-correct!
What a great way to beat the heat. I usually just take a street nap.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
I did a glacier nap!

Mr. Walker is indeed a wonderful man!
Beautiful Johanna!!! ššš
Thanks Jill!
Lovely; what a great way to beat the heat and what a treat those photos are (I’m so awestruck that I’ve been reduced to speaking in rhyme š). Love to you and Mr Walker from all at the Homestead x
I almost started rapping this comment, such rhythm and rhyme! I am happy you enjoy this and love to you all as well! xo
Wonderful photos! The landscape looks very, very different from Maine. Alien, almost. Stunning.
Thank you Laurie, and you are right it is so different from Maine! Each their own beauty, I love Maine!!
What a guy! It does sound like the perfect trip for escaping the heat and everyday life in Ohio. All the scenery is exotic and so beautiful. I gasped out loud at the photo of the full moon but, really, all the photos are wonderful!
That was Harvest Moon! It was so beautiful. I am happy you enjoyed it and yes, Mr. Walker is a great fellow!
Looks to me like you have the perfect Mr. If someone booked a trip like that for me I’d think I was in heaven. You captured the scenery so clearly and beautifully. I would never want to leave. The photos are stunning!!! I’m sure any writing will go much better now. š Our weather in the Pacific NW is all off. The rains have come but it is way too warm for this time of year. I’m sure some of those photos will find their way to sketches.
Mr. Walker is indeed a fine fellow ;o) I really love this place of the world and it was wonderful to beat the heat indeed. The west coast of America is the travel plans for 2018…I know it is far ahead but we are going with friends from Europe so that needs planning. Any tips???
How far down the coast are you going and how many days do you have? I’m partial to the Pacific NW. California has some pretty spots but… I’ll give it some thought. I’m not much on seeing the sights. I kind of just live somewhere and don’t get around enough unless someone has time to drive.
Ah the details are still be discussed, we will with friends from the Netherlands. I will get back at you when the times comes. Thank you Marlene!!!
Love, Love Love these…thank you for sharing
You are welcome!
Oh, Mr. Walker is a good one. The Rockies are so lovely in the fall, I hope you caught some of the aspens in their full yellow glory. That first photo of the elk is amazing and the scrub jay is pretty sweet too.
The leaves were juuuust turning. I am happy you enjoyed the post!
Wow!!! Those are such amazing photos! Thank you for sharing!!
Beautiful scenery, and your photographs are simply stunning.
Thank you very much!!!
I have always wanted to go to the Rocky Mountains. It is on my list of places to visit. How lovely of your husband to book this for you both! Great photographs š
Mr. Walker is indeed a very fine fellow and yes, put the RM on your travel list, it is wonderful! Happy you enjoyed it!
I’m glad that you had great time, Johanna! š I love the photos, especially the one with the bird. Do you know what bird it is?
You’ve gotten wonderful photo’s of so many critters. It’s almost like they all said, “Johanna’s here, Johanna’s here!” and came out to greet you. LOL. The chubby guys…woodchucks maybe? I think they’re a riot xo B
It looks blissful!
And I love the photos!
Thnak you so much! And yes, it was pure bliss to be honest ;o)
Your photographs are so beautiful….thank you for taking me on a wonderful journey, even if it’s only in my head!!!!
