Rocky Mountains…One More Time

dsc_1884-1

Well I could have made dozens of posts with snapshots from the family album…but all good things come to an end as they say. Just a few more ‘vista’s’ and than back to the order of the day, I’d say. The Rocky Mountains will become a subject for daydreaming until our next visit there.

dsc_1898The hikes were so superb with so many different landscapes. Lovely luscious greens to almost moonlike surfaces.

Talking about the moon: this was the Harvest Moon 2016…magnificent!

After the long hot summer, how refreshing to see snow and feel invigorated!

You never know what awaits you around the next corner…

And btw, this calm little stream is the Colorado River..it starts here like this. Yes, the same Colorado River that dug out the Grand Canyon!

  1. What wonderful shots. I especially like the raptor (no idea what it is) caught in a ray of sunlight and the elk heads and antlers peeking above the hilltop. Sweet.

  2. Beautiful photos Johanna! I started to list the ones I liked the best and found that I loved them all! I can tell by your shots that the air was sharp and clear and the scenery!!! Wow!!! I like your shot from underneath the glacier – cool! πŸ˜‰

  3. Hi Johanna, I enjoyed reading your series of posts about your trip to the Rocky Mountains. The weather gods smiled on you for the length of your holiday. Everything looks so bright and sunny with beautiful blue skies. The photographs of the wild life are very interesting. A lot of our animals in Australia are nocturnal, so seeing lots of creatures scampering around during the day is not something we experience.

  4. The glacier photo and the one of the innocent-looking Colorado River is wonderful and very timely as Farm Girl is studying the how water shapes the landscape and these are perfect examples. What a gorgeous part of the world!
